„There is a habit in my country, that on the Christmas-Eve day,
When the first evening star appears in the sky,
People of the same house break the Biblical bread
Sharing the most precious feelings in this bread embedded…”
Dear CEEPUS Partners
In Central and Eastern Europe on Christmas Eve many families gather around tables to share a thin wafer continuing tradition described by the Polish poet and to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Along with prayers and pieces of Christmas wafer people share best wishes of love, peace, happiness and prosperity. This ancient tradition passed on through centuries and generations teaches us to appreciate one another and understand the meaning of love, family bonds, friendship, togetherness.
As the mystery of the silent and holy night is approaching our thoughts are with those whom we connect, work and cooperate with. Therefore, we want to share with all members of CEEPUS network these sincere Christmas wishes of happiness, peace and joy.
May this very special night awaken in us the most beautiful feelings of kindness, love and desire to reach out to people of various social contexts. May the message of Bethlehem silence conflicts and divisions in our hearts and within global societies. May it fill all people and nations with hope that every human hunger will be satisfied, every social group will be respected, every culture will be united in God.
With warm and friendly wishes for a blessed time during Christmas season and Happy New Year, rich with successful cooperation and academic endeavors, to all Partners.
